plastering course content monday - friday
Feel
free to ask the instructors any questions at any time during or
after the course regarding plastering etc
Monday: plasterboard your ceiling in your allocated
room, learn how to cut and fix boards correctly,then skim your
ceiling using the typwriter method.
Tuesday: Cut plasterboard and using the direct bond (Dot and Dab)
fix the plasterboard to walls with optional shaped designs,
then float another wall with sand and cement render creating free-form
corners.
Wednesday: Cutting correctly thin coat beads to angles
on your walls / windows, fix your beads, scrim tape all joints,
2 coat skim your walls, then crate either a barrelled ceiling,
curved wall or apply stipple artex to designated wall or ceiling
Thursday: Seal previous skimmed ceiling / walls, glue and
re-skim, 3 coat skim your artex ceiling, using trowel, float, trowel,
or skim barrel as required, you will be
shown how to straighten the ceiling lines with the use of a
featheredge, you will 2 coat re-skim the walls and these will be
expected to be perfect.
Friday: This will be a consolidation of your new skimming
tecniques, then remove all works.
what you will learn. the use of all tools required for
plaster-boarding and skimming, you will be required to mix your
own plaster to the required consistency, you will learn the
methods procedures and techniques for skimming to a very good
finish
after the course has been completed you are given after care
support with the use of the plasterers
